The property is situated in Normandy one and half hours drive south of Caen. Get away from it all and simply relax in this tranquil setting surrounded by fields, or take advantage of the many activities and sites to see in the local area. The gite has a spacious feel about it and is divided onto two levels. The ground floor consists of a lounge with wood burner, TV with English channels, DVD& CD player, a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with bath and shower. Wooden stairs lead up to a bedroom which comprises of 5 foot bed with a very comfortable mattress. Additional electric heating throughout. Private driveway and secluded garden with table and chairs for alfresco dining and deck chairs to watch the sun go down. Portable BBQ. You are welcomed with a bottle of red wine and chocolates.
There are lovely walks locally as well as great cycling opportunities. In our Village of Barenton, you can follow the disused converted railway line for miles in both directions, stopping for lunch and well earned rest. Walk into Barenton for your fresh baguettes or drive 10- 15 minutes into the local town of Mortain. This town has a large outdoor swimming pool (seasonal). Your trip would not be complete without a visit to the wonderful scenic Petite and Grand falls or Petite Chapelle (small chapel) housing an American war monument with panoramic views stretching for miles. Mortain also has a disused monastery which you can visit, this was one of the last working ones in France. Other places of interest include Mont St Michel approximately 1 and 1/4 hours drive away. Normandy is famous for its beeches and war Museums. Pay a visit to Bagnoles-de-l-orne, a delightful and only thermal spa in the whole of Northwest France. There is so much to do and see in the area such as the famous Normandy beaches, Bayeux tapestry, Domfront, Saint- Malo, Dinan, the Camembert factory, the Abbey and weekly traditional French market at saint-Hilaire, Vide-Graniers/Brocantes markets to pick a bargain. Alternatively, stay in and totally relax, read a book by the cosy wood burner or sunbath in a very private garden. Purchase the most delicious organic chicken eggs locally from our friends neighboring farmers.
If you wish to travel with friends, why not consider it's sister gite Maison de Grace (ref; 6907475) This has a double four poster bed. Both gites supply a portable cot. Bedding and towels can be requested at time of booking for an additional cost of £25.
We can offer you a 10% discount on Brittany ferry crossings on request.

Nestled in the hills between Barenton and Mortain, the Maison de Lilli is the prefect antidote to modern living. Modern enough to be comfortable, furnished in some finds at the local markets, the eclectic mix of styles draws you in. With cows at the back of the gite and goats and sheep at the front, you need never worry about noisy neighbors! Having told the owner that we were coming over for our 20th wedding anniversary, she upped the romance. With red rose petals on the bed and a heart-shaped cake made by her daughter, our holiday started extremely well. Within ten minutes of arriving, the bottle of red wine kindly left by Karen was open and we were sitting in the garden admiring the view. This is the perfect place for days out. You are always within an hour of somewhere interesting. My particular favorite was Domfront, the medieval town. You will not be disappointed if you go to stay at this property.
The comfortable maison de Lilly is a gite indépendant doté d'une chambre spacieuse à l'étage. Il peut and avoir a problème de taille: in the absence of Tessa, the person of confiance, nous avons été contraints de contacter Karen par téléphone (in Angleterre!) To obtain the localization.
