Experience the real Corfu. Ideal for a couple or four friends looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday.

UNFORTUNATELY VILLA NIKOS IS NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 13 YEARS.

Just yards from the sea and Astrakeri's sandy beach, Villa Nikos lets you experience the island as the Durrells knew it

Only a five minute drive from the resort of Roda with Acharavi and Sidari a little further. This idyllic hideaway is one of the island's best kept secrets.

Few tourists have discovered this tranquil spot looking out over the little harbour where the fishermen bring their daily catch up to the nearby "Three Brothers" Restaurant.

From the terrace of this Trip Advisor award winning restaurant you can enjoy the view across the sea to the mountains of Albania and savour the atmosphere and home cooked seafood and traditional Greek cuisine.

There are another ten beaches within a few minutes' drive along with horse riding, scuba diving and water sports if you should get tired of the peace and quiet among the olive groves.

The Villa itself, set in its own secluded garden, is nicely refurbished and quite charming enjoying lovely views of the harbour and Astrakeri beach.

The location is 24 miles from Corfu Airport and the journey takes approx 55 mins. We do recommend you hire a car as no direct bus route but there are local taxis .

Any medical assistance is supplied by a local GP based in Roda. There is also a fully equipped Medical Centre which is open 7days a week .

Further information :-

Situated in the extreme north of Corfu, and easy 55mins drive from the airport. The Villa boasts an unspoiled location just metres from the beach which looks out to the spectacular straits of Corfu and the mountains of Albania beyond.

The nearby resorts of Sidari and Acharavi both houses major supermarkets- Greek and Italian (The latter offering excellent wines at reasonable prices) these are no more than 10 mins journey by car. The closest resort of Roda which is a five minute drive and has an excellent mini market catering to most requirements .

There are three traditional tavernas close by offering excellent authentic fresh local fare. The Three Brothers Fish Tavana overlooks the tiny harbour. Grigori's Taverna looks out beyond the straits and gently instils a calming 'Greece in a Bottle 'atmosphere by virtue of its stunning location. Finally the Sunrise tavern, with a superb vista encompassing the whole of the nearby coastline.

Roda also enjoys two excellent eateries - The Drosia famous for its beautifully grilled lamb cutlets.

The Pixida Italian restaurant owned and run by the charming Salvatore and his wife who serve delicious Italian cuisine.

Should you wish to see a little more of the island, Corfu town itself will not disappoint. The Liston promenade with its arcaded Cafes. Delightful shops and boutiques selling Greek and international goods. Saint Spiridon Church - patron saint of the island.

The two Forts Old and New that guard the Town. Garitsa Bay with a long sweep of Top class Hotels and older residential properties whilst the Bay itself plays host to an astonishing armada of assorted private yachts. At the tail end of Garitsa enjoy a relaxing drink on the elegant Veranda of The Mon Repos Hotel which is a short walk from the estate of the same name where the Duke of Edinburgh was born.

Enjoy a wonderful lunch by the waters edge at The Nautilus Restaurant.

If a Fine dining experience is what would suit The Etrusco Restaurant at Kato Korakiana is open evenings from 2000hrs - Midnight. Booking is required as very popular.

Paleocastritsa (30min drive from Corfu Town) has long been

acclaimed as the jewel of the island and is indeed very pretty, the best way to see and appreciate the entire seven bay layout of this beautiful resort is probably from the village of Bella Vista high above

Paleocastritsa but easily reached by a good albeit windy Road. A trip to the Monastery where you can watch the Monks making their wine is also worth a visit.

Angelo Castro ( Castle of Angels) is home to a fortified position at the top of some 300 stone steps (shades of Mama Mia)this place is spectacular and has a lot of history attached to it, It was the site of the first Beacon to be lit when invading pirates, Turks and other foes were sighted in the Straights. One after another a chain of well positioned Beacons stretching as far as the island Capital were lit up within 20 mins and the inhabitants of the town were aware of the threat and able to enter the shelter of the Forts with time to spare and prepare to repel the invaders.
