Located on the outskirts of the traditional white village of Mondrón, this villa combines tranquillity, comfort, and spectacular scenery.

Set at an altitude of 610 metres, the property enjoys breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, countryside, and Lake Viñuela, stretching all the way to the coast on clear days. Despite its peaceful location, the villa is ideally positioned — just 45 minutes from Málaga Airport and 30 minutes from the beaches and coastal resorts of the Costa del Sol.

The area is perfect for exploring southern Spain, with Marbella, Granada, Seville, Córdoba, Ronda, and Gibraltar all within easy reach for memorable day trips. For winter visitors, the Sierra Nevada ski resort is less than two hours away, making Casa de la Abuela an excellent year-round destination.

Mondrón is a charming Andalusian village surrounded by olive groves, almond trees, fruit orchards, and wildflowers, thanks to its mild subtropical climate. The village even produces its own local olive oil. Within a 5-minute walk, you’ll find two small supermarkets and an excellent tapas bar. The nearby town of Periana, just a 5-minute drive away, offers a wide range of amenities including restaurants, cafés, supermarkets, banks, a pharmacy, health centre, bakeries, and shops. Periana is famous for its peaches and olives and hosts a popular Peach Festival every August.

Lake Viñuela is only 15 minutes away, offering activities such as sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, fishing, and scenic picnic areas. Families will also enjoy Aquavelis Water Park and the large shopping mall in Torre del Mar, both approximately 30 minutes’ drive, featuring a cinema, restaurants, and popular fashion stores.

House Rules

Booking Notes: A 25% deposit is payable at the time of booking, with the balance payment due six weeks before your arrival. We accept online bank transfers and also cheque if no access to online facilities. Prices are for the property per week in GB Pounds, Euros are acceptable at the bank exchange rate on the day. Changeover Day: Arrival is after 4 pm and departure before 10 am, however these times may be flexible so just ask and we will do all we can to accommodate you. Change over day is usually a Saturday, but once again we are very flexible.

100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.

    Absolutely stunning property located in a quiet part of a small genuine village. Our family was surprised to find the house even better looking than the pictures. You do need a car to get around and there's lots of great restaurants within 15 - 20 minutes. The restaurant in Mondron is very good and located within a few minutes by walking. If you prefer to stay at home the kitchen is nice and well equipped. We couldn't be happier with the house and plan to come back.
