The space
The more than 300 square meters, 400 years old But on the western edge of the Plateau de Coiron overlooks vineyards and lavender fields, and on the horizon, the Cévennes. Luxuriously restored first in 2002, then again in 2011 with a new pool deck, new Finnish sauna, eight person jacuzzi, new indoor and outdoor kitchens that accommodate up to 12 people and a complete renovation of the adjoining barn, but sleeps 16+ in its six large bedrooms - five with queen beds, a bunk-style bedroom that comfortably seats up to six children in four large beds. Five of the bedrooms overlook the heated saltwater pool of 10 x 5 meters (no chlorine!), The valley of the river Ardèche and the sunset horizon 80 km to the west. There are four full bathrooms, all with separate bathrooms (continental European style). The kitchen is fully equipped, ready for epicurean gourmands, and there is a second outdoor kitchen next to an outdoor dining pergola. The private garden is surrounded by raspberry and blackberries, and basil, rosemary, thyme, laurel, verveine abound ...
Guest access
Full use of the entire house including the two kitchens (one fully equipped, one outdoor covered with dishwasher, sink and refrigerator) and exclusive use of the heated salt water pool and sauna.
Interaction with guests
Cathy and Babeth, who lived nearby, will take care of the cleansing of the Mas and of anything that demands immediate attention. They speak only very limited English, so get ready to practice your French!

Our favorite places:
Balazuc - beautiful and great place to swim. Much less crowded than Vallon Pont D'Arc. Other favorite water sports are the streams that descend from the Massif Central - to Antregues and Le Puy. Pont de Diable is great - go early to beat the crowds.
Villages: Our favorites include: Alba-La-Romaine, Miribel, L'Argentiere, St Pierreville, Avignon, Viviers, Uzes, Vals les Bains
Ardeche is the world capital of chestnut. The beams of the house are chestnut, many of the trees on the outside are chestnut. Visit the 'Museum of Chataignes' in Joyeuse. Enjoy 'marron glaces' (candied nuts), or simply an l'Ardechoise salad (with chestnuts and goat's cheese!).
Guilleme
Bourganel - the local beer of Ardeche - you can visit the brewery in Vals-les-Bains. They do lager (blonde) and then several local varieties; chestnut, blueberry, miele de chataigne, verveine. Closed on Mondays.
Vineyards - There are many local vineyards and local "caves" (collective) in the villages. South Ardèche is home to the Cote du Rhone name, the oldest wine district in France ... try the Grand Ardeche by Louis Latour. You can visit the chardonnay caves of Latour in Alba-la-Romaine.
